So the managers in the premiership prefer foreign talent over home grown youngsters and this contributes to our poor failings in major comps.WAKE UP you mugs the youth in this country are just as good as the imports but they jst aint given a chance until this happens we aint got a hope in hell of winning anything give our youth a fair go!!! :banghead:

What happens is that the British clubs having money to burn would rather buy foreign stars tehn have to develop their own homegrown talent.

Too many clubs have non of the cost of training lads who dont make the grade.

However just as the country is in economic troubles so is the British football league. They will soon have to go back to training up local teams.

Athough I'm not heavily into football even I can see that the problem is Money. It has become a big business, clubs want to buy success and are not interested in devoloping the youngsters. Like most things in life, things go the complete circle, it will crash and then they will have to start from the bottom again. Only then will we see a resurgance in our national team and then the money will roll in again, and then we end up again in the same old circumstances.:frantics:

I dont follow football but I would prefer that every team in the premiership was made up of mainly ethnic English players. Rugby has by in large avoided this mass player import with self imposed pay caps. But in the last few years there are more and more overseas players coming in, especial from the southern hemisphere. And I know for fact that ethnic English youngsters who are in some big clubs are not happy about it. What is more the Rugby academies have been accused of producing machines rather than allowing for the development of individual skill and initiative. Though it seems Martin Johnson is finally managing to drive those drawbacks out of the England squad and replace with them old fashioned grit, determination and initiative and willingness to use individual rugby skills.

I think the FA need to impose a quota system on English clubs, whereby every club must include a specific number of English players in their squad.
This could be phased in over several years, giving the clubs time to train youngsters.
Only by forcing them to bring on home grown talent will the bloody accountants be stopped from running the game.

Mind you,I can hear the shouts of Racism already.
It's OK to positively discriminate for Black people,Gay people, females, dwarves, geriatrics ,ad nauseum---but ENGLISH people???????
They were not easily moved,
They were icy---willing to wait

What 3 sons says is true. There is no logical reason why our kids can't do as well as those of the Dutch, Germans Spanish and so on, it's just investment. A 17 year-old English lad is not physically inferior to, or inherently less talented than any of the others, but he doesn't have the support systems to get him through. And that's because like the rest of industry, English football clubs would rather import ready-made foreign talent than take the time to train and build-up our own youngsters. It's a short-termist, results now approach that blights England in more areas than football.

I am an English nationalist. I hate Nazis, Communists and Fascists. Remember, Mussolini was a Communist before he founded Fascism, and it's not called National Socialism for no reason.

Unfortunately the same can be said for nearly all sectors of modern English society. 'We' would sooner import ready-made foreign workers than train our out of work 'white working class' or our 'under acheiving white boys'.

And that flawed logic is used as a support for immigration and its benefits. To me it makes no sense.
