BRITAIN is one of the most overpopulated countries in the world – ahead of even China and India.

And England is the most crowded country in Europe and the fourth most crowded in the world as our population soars relentlessly towards the 70 million mark.

That is an increase in population equivalent to 10 more “Birminghams”.

A league table which reveals the pressure of population growth on dwindling resources puts Singapore in the number one spot followed by Israel and Kuwait. The UK as a whole is 17th in the list of 130 countries.

Sir Andrew Green, of MigrationWatch UK, said: “It’s obvious to everyone that England, particularly the South-east, is heavily overcrowded.

“According to official figures two-thirds of population growth in the next 20 years will be as a result of immigration. Such an increase in our population will put even further pressure on our public services such as housing, schools and hospitals.”

The Overpopulation Index is thought to be the first study to rank countries according to the “sustainability” of their populations and how dependent they are on other nations for resources.

Researchers measured the “ecological footprint” of each country’s citizens to judge the resources they were consuming and how many people they could sustain if they had to be self-sufficient. They gave the UK a self-sufficiency rating of just 25.8 per cent. At current levels, our dependency on other countries’ resources is predicted to increase to 90 per cent by 2032.

It means if we had to rely on our own food, water and energy we could sustain only 15 million people, a quarter of the current population of around 60 million. So, at current consumption levels, we are “overpopulated” by more than 45 million, according to the Optimum Population Trust think-tank whose patron is the environmentalist Sir David Attenborough.

OPT chairman Roger Martin said: “The UK is moving the wrong way up the league table because of continuing rapid population growth. The position for England is even worse.

“Alongside Holland, it’s now the most densely settled country in Europe. The 10 more ‘Birminghams’ projected for the next 22 years underline the urgency of stabilising our numbers as soon as possible.”

He added: “You don’t have to be a little Englander or an eco-survivalist to conclude that in an era of growing shortages – food, energy, and water – being so dependent on the outside world puts us in a very vulnerable position.

“With the rest of the world, including many countries much poorer than the UK, supplying three-quarters of our needs, it’s also morally questionable.”

According to the index, the world as a whole is overcrowded by two billion – the difference between its population and how many it can support sustainably.

We may be short of food, water, energy, space etc etc,but there is one commodity that we have in abundance.
We need to start exporting immigrants as soon, and in as large a number, as possible without delay.

From the Optimum Population Trust site;

July 8 2010
NEW INDEX HIGHLIGHTS MOST OVERPOPULATED COUNTRIES

Singapore is the world’s most overpopulated state, followed by Israel and Kuwait, according to a new league table ranking countries by their degree of overpopulation. The UK is 17th in the table.

The Overpopulation Index, published by the Optimum Population Trust to mark World Population Day, July 11, is thought to be the first international “league table” to rank countries according to the sustainability of their populations – the extent to which they are living within their environmental means.

It examines data for over 130 individual countries and concludes that 77 of them are overpopulated – they are consuming more resources than they are producing and are dependent on other countries, and ultimately the Earth a whole, to make good the difference.

Middle Eastern and European countries dominate the index, with nine and eight respectively among the 20 most overpopulated. China and India, despite being bywords for overpopulation, rank lower, at 29th and 33rd respectively. The world as a whole, meanwhile, is overpopulated by two billion – the difference between its actual population and the number it can support sustainably, given current lifestyles and technologies.

The calculations have been made possible by advances in the methodology of ecological footprinting, which measures the area of biologically productive land and water required to produce the resources and absorb the waste of a given population or activity and expresses this in global hectares - hectares with world-average biological productivity.

The index uses data contained in the latest Ecological Footprint Atlas, produced last year by the Global Footprint Network and based on figures for 2006. Data were available for over 130 states. The atlas assesses the ecological footprint and biocapacity (renewable biological productivity) of a country on a per capita basis. The index measures the proportion of a country’s average per capita footprint not supplied from its own biocapacity to determine how dependent it is on external sources.*

A UK citizen, for example, has an average ecological footprint of 6.12 global hectares but because of the size of the population, their “share” of national biocapacity is only 1.58 global hectares. This gives the UK a self-sufficiency rating of 25.8 per cent – the proportion of its footprint it derives from its own resources –and a corresponding dependency rating of 74.2 per cent. If it had to rely on its own biocapacity, the UK could therefore sustain only a quarter of its population – around 15 million – and, at current consumption levels, is “overpopulated” by more than 45 million (see index here).

The population of Africa as a whole, while not exceeding its biocapacity share, has both higher levels of fertility and poverty than any other continent. OPT chair Roger Martin described this as “a stark illustration of the unfortunate trade-offs between growing populations and sustainable livelihoods which we are currently seeing”.

He said: “Some people may argue that in a world of international trade, national self-sufficiency doesn’t matter. We think that’s a very short-sighted view. You don’t have to be a little Englander or an eco-survivalist to conclude that in an era of growing shortages - food, energy, water - being so dependent on the outside world puts us in a very vulnerable position. With the rest of the world, including many countries much poorer than the UK, supplying three-quarters of our overall needs, it’s also morally questionable.”

“ ‘Overpopulation’ is a much used and abused word, but we believe the index helps to anchor it firmly in the realm of sustainability – of people living within the limits of the place they inhabit. I think the index also clarifies what we really mean by sustainability and how important human numbers are to the concept.”

“To reduce our impact on the planet, we need to think about both numbers of consumers and how much they consume, and the UK is doing exceptionally badly on both fronts. Had we published this calculation last year, my understanding is that the UK would have been in 19th position. In terms of numbers - and therefore in terms of sustainability - we are still moving in the wrong direction, both in the table and in reality. It’s about time we woke up to the fact that the UK has a real population problem.”

Mr. Martin added: “There is a long history of estimating how many people the world can support, some of it extremely fanciful. Ecological footprinting has developed rapidly in recent years and is now beginning to produce probably the best data we have ever had. The index uses this data to provide a compelling picture of not only where we are but where we need to be. And where we need to be, both globally and nationally, is clearly supporting significantly fewer people than we are.”

*For further explanation and technical notes, see index at www.optimumpopulation.org/overpopulationindex.pdf
For details of ecological footprinting, see www.footprintnetwork.org/atlas. Individual data were not available for some countries.
**The index only covers countries where the ecological footprint exceeds biocapacity; countries with a high fertility rate and a footprint lower than their biocapacity are those experiencing extreme poverty, for example, in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Yes, keep bringing this up Andy. Too few people realise the mass immigration bomb New Labour left us will blow every political model to smithereens. Our present system of government will collapse. They know its just a matter of time - that's why the LibLabCon gravitate so readily when the question of nationhood is raised. They couldn't care less about the Englisc, or the Scots the Welsh and the Northern Irish.

Our homelands belong to them. They are halfway to transforming our beloved nation into a Multicultural Republic of AnyBodyLand: if you find youself not liking it, tough. If you disagree with it strongly they will imprison you. Anything more and they will terminate your life. Parliament has been our enemy for many years so we must now bring down this House of Traitors. If you ever meet a politician tell him or her this: we Englisc will try you for treason one day. If found guilty you will hang by the neck until you are dead. Forever England.

How migration and high birth rates 'will increase UK population to 78MILLION by 2051'

The population of the UK could reach nearly 80million by the middle of this century, according to new research.
Higher levels of immigration, higher birth rates and people living longer would push the total to 78.8million by 2051, academics found.
The increase - of nearly 20million since 2001 - would be likely to make the UK the largest country in Europe.

The research, by academics at the University of Leeds, also predicts major changes to the ethnic mix of the UK population.
They found ethnic minorities would make up one in five of the population by mid century, up from fewer than one in ten a decade ago.
Official statisticians have long projected the population would hit 70million by 2029.

But the new estimate, from independent researchers, shows increases potentially continuing into later decades.
Population projections carry a greater degree of uncertainty over longer time periods because different factors influencing its size can change in importance.
The academics produced a range of estimates according to different birth, death and migration rates.

According to the highest projection, the population will reach 78,848,000 in 2051.
The highest figure assumes immigration increasing from current levels - although the coalition government has already put a temporary cap on some forms of migration and plans further reductions.
Of the 78.8million Britons in 2051, some 55million would regard themselves as White Britons - an increase from the current figure of 52.5million.

But measured as a slice of the population, that would represent a fall from more than one in eight to fewer than one in seven.

Numbers of 'other whites' - a category which includes Eastern European migrants - are projected to increase dramatically, to nearly seven million, or one in ten of the population.
In 2001 - before the mass wave of Eastern European migration caused by the accession of former Soviet states to the EU - they made up just 2.5 per cent.

The study predicts an increase in the number of Indians - nearly doubling from 1,432,000 to 2,672,000. There will also be sharp rises in numbers from Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The three- year study found minority groups would be better integrated in society and more likely to live in affluent areas.
Project leader Professor Philip Rees said: 'The ethnic make-up of the UK's population is evolving significantly.
'Groups outside the white British majority are increasing in size and share, not just in the areas of initial migration, but throughout the country, and our projections suggest that this trend is set to continue through to 2051.
'At a regional level, ethnic minorities will shift out of deprived inner city areas to more affluent areas, which echoes the way white groups have migrated in the past.'

Commentators said a population of 80million would be a 'nightmare'.
Sir Andrew Green, chairman of the MigrationWatch UK think tank said the research demonstrated the need for cuts in migrant numbers.
'The prospect of better integration is welcome but will be a huge challenge if the ethnic minority population is to more than double,' he said.
'That apart, a population of nearly 80 million in mid century on this tiny island is a nightmare. These projections underline the case for getting immigration right down as the Government have promised.'
Home Secretary Theresa May unveiled the country's first cap on migrant numbers last month - reducing the number of permits for skilled workers by five per cent.
The temporary limit on the number of non-EU workers will be followed by a final cap to be unveiled next April.
David Cameron has pledged to reduce net migration - currently 176,000 to the low tens of thousands.
Around 70 per cent of the current population increases are due to immigration - through direct arrivals or children born to them.
The current UK population of 61,398,000 is an increase of three million since 1997.
But even that count may be too low because no one can estimate how many migrants have come into the country illegally
.
Labour's supposedly 'tough' points-based system actually led to increases in the number of foreign workers and students cleared to live here.
The number of non-EU migrants given work permits, or permission to carry on working in Britain, rose by 20 per cent, from 159,535 in 2007 - the year before points were introduced - to 190,640 last year, including dependents.
The number of student approvals increased by a third, from 208,800 to 273,445 a year later.

Did anyone mention the words "immigrant cull"? I think we should! ;)

You know my opinion on that Witnere. Too many people + not enough jobs + most jobs taken by cheap foreign labour = race war.

This sort of thing needs to be pumped in to the heads of as many people as often as possible to wake them up to what's round the corner. Tony Blair championed the response of 'racist' to the word 'immigration' and a lot of work needs to be done to reverse this move. These statistics show that immigration has no benefits for the indigenous population except for a handful of multinational fat cats. :suttonhoo:

Wanderer: The government are waking up to this fact too late.

They have imposed a multicultural agenda which has gone too far. The British have had enough and are begining to openly say so.
Politicians still cannot move away from the lies of British tolerance.

Because the government have failed to act the BNP are now Britians fourth largest political party.
The EDL have formed and take to the streets almost monthly.
Geet Wilders has spoken about forming a Freedom Alliance of which Britain will be a part.

Things are shaping up for civil unrest and what do our government do.......fuck all.
